People With a Similar Net Worth

Pierre Gasly’s net worth is about $33 million, according to a widely reported estimate published by PlanetF1 in August 2026 and repeated by LoveMoney the same month. That puts the Alpine driver in the middle of the grid’s rich list, behind the champions and big-team stars but well ahead of most midfield drivers.

Off the track, Gasly has built a portfolio that is unusual for a midfield driver. He is a co-owner of French football club FC Versailles, an investor in the Red Bull KTM Tech3 MotoGP team, and the face of fragrance and fashion campaigns for Givenchy and Lacoste.

Pierre Gasly’s F1 salary by year

F1 teams do not publish driver pay. The table below uses Forbes’ annual ranking where Gasly made its top 10, and widely reported figures for the other years. Early-career numbers are rough.

Season Team Reported pay Source
2017 Toro Rosso Under $1 million Widely reported estimate
2018 Toro Rosso Under $1 million Widely reported estimate
2019 Red Bull Racing / Toro Rosso About $2 million Widely reported estimate
2020 AlphaTauri About $2 million Widely reported estimate
2021–2022 AlphaTauri About $5 million a year Widely reported estimate

2025 Alpine About $10–12 million Reported (PlanetF1); not in Forbes’ top 10
2026 Alpine About $12 million Reported (PlanetF1, August 2026)

In 2023 and 2024, Gasly was the ninth- and tenth-best-paid driver on Forbes’ list. He dropped out of the top 10 for 2025 because Alpine’s poor season left little room for bonuses, Forbes said.

Some reports put his new deal higher. French media reported in September 2025 that his base pay would rise to as much as €16 million a year from 2026, with a large bonus if he ever won the title. Alpine has not confirmed any figures, so we use the lower, more widely reported number.

Early life

Pierre Jean-Jacques Gasly was born on February 7, 1996, in Rouen, in Normandy. He is the youngest of five brothers. Racing ran in the family: his grandparents raced karts, and his father, Jean-Jacques, competed in karting, endurance racing and rallies.

He started competitive karting at 10. One of his closest friends from those days was Anthoine Hubert, who karted with him from around age seven, went to the same school and later shared an apartment with him. Hubert died in a Formula 2 crash at Spa in 2019.

At 13, Gasly left home for Le Mans to focus on racing. In 2010 he was runner-up in the CIK-FIA European karting championship and won the Grand Prix Open Karting.

Junior career and the fight for funding

Gasly moved into cars in 2011 and finished third in French F4. He won the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 title in 2013, which earned him a place in the Red Bull Junior Team in 2014.

That year he finished second in Formula Renault 3.5 to fellow Red Bull junior Carlos Sainz. He then spent two seasons in GP2, the series now called Formula 2.

His career almost ran out of money in 2016. Red Bull’s Helmut Marko told him to win GP2 or be dropped, but the budget Red Bull provided did not cover a seat at a top team. Gasly has said he was about $200,000 short of the cost of racing with Prema.

A sponsor lead took him and his mother to Uganda to meet a would-be backer. The investor never appeared, and his lawyer offered to pay in gold bars. Gasly turned it down and flew home with nothing. He found other sponsors and won the 2016 GP2 title anyway.

With no F1 seat free, he raced in Japan’s Super Formula in 2017 and finished second, just half a point behind the champion.

Toro Rosso and Red Bull (2017–2019)

Gasly made his F1 debut with Toro Rosso at the 2017 Malaysian Grand Prix, replacing Daniil Kvyat. His first full season, 2018, brought a fourth place in Bahrain and 29 points.

In 2019 he was promoted to Red Bull Racing as Max Verstappen‘s teammate. It was the biggest seat of his career, but he struggled to match Verstappen’s pace.

After 12 races Red Bull sent him back to Toro Rosso and promoted Alex Albon in his place. Gasly answered with a second place at the 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix, his first podium, and finished seventh in the standings with 95 points.

AlphaTauri and the Monza win (2020–2022)

Toro Rosso was renamed AlphaTauri for 2020. That September, Gasly won the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, the first win by a French driver in F1 since 1996.

His best season came in 2021, when he scored 110 points, took third at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and finished ninth overall. His pay rose to a reported $5 million a year in this period.

The 2022 AlphaTauri was far weaker, and Gasly scored only 23 points. By then it was clear Red Bull would not promote him again, so he looked elsewhere.

Alpine years (2023–present)

In October 2022 Gasly signed a multi-year deal with Alpine, the works team of French carmaker Renault. It was the move that turned him from a solid earner into one of the best-paid drivers outside the top teams.

His first teammate there was Esteban Ocon, a fellow Normandy native and former karting rival. Gasly took third at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix and third at the 2024 São Paulo Grand Prix, a wet race in which Alpine scored a double podium.

The 2025 season was hard. Alpine finished last in the constructors’ standings, and Gasly scored all 22 of the team’s points. Even so, the team showed its faith in him. On September 6, 2025, Alpine extended his contract to the end of 2028.

The 2026 season

Alpine switched to Mercedes engines for the new 2026 rules, and the car was more competitive. Gasly finished in a podium position at Monaco, but after appeals by McLaren and Red Bull, the FIA’s International Court of Appeal reinstated time penalties and he lost the trophy.

A few weeks later he took his first career pole position at Monza, beating George Russell by 0.060 seconds. It was Alpine’s first pole in 17 years and the first by a Frenchman since Jean Alesi in 1997. He finished seventh in the race.

The title went to Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli at the Mexico City Grand Prix on November 1. Gasly was 10th in the standings with 42 points after that race, well ahead of teammate Franco Colapinto.

Business ventures and endorsements

Gasly has spent more of his money on sports investments than most drivers his age. His main deals:

  • FC Versailles (March 2024): he became the third partner in the semi-pro football club near Paris, alongside club president Alexandre Mulliez and Fabien Lazare. The club then played in France’s third tier. The size of his stake was not disclosed.
  • Red Bull KTM Tech3 (January 2026): he joined the investor group that bought the MotoGP team, now run by former Haas boss Guenther Steiner. He was reported to be the first active F1 driver with a stake in a MotoGP team.
  • Givenchy: he became the face of Givenchy’s Gentleman fragrance line in 2025 and was named a global ambassador before the 2026 season. He was the first F1 driver to front a global fragrance campaign for the brand.
  • Lacoste (2026): he signed as a brand ambassador and the face of the L.12.12 polo shirt.
  • Hawkers (2024): he launched his own sunglasses collection with the Spanish eyewear brand.

None of these deals has a published value. Fashion and fragrance deals of this kind can be worth seven figures a year, but there is no reliable figure for Gasly’s total endorsement income.

Real estate

Gasly moved from France to Milan in 2019 and has lived there since. He has said his home there was once burgled and trashed while he was away racing. No purchase price for a Milan property has been reported.

His one well-documented purchase is in Miami. In early 2026, U.S. media reported that he had bought a unit at the Jean-Georges Miami Tropic Residences, between the Design District and Midtown, which is due to be finished in 2028.

Property Year Reported price
Condo, Miami Tropic Residences, Miami (4 bedrooms, 3,712 sq ft, off-plan) 2025–2026 (reported February 2026) $4.9 million

Personal life

Gasly has been in a relationship with Portuguese model Francisca “Kika” Cerqueira Gomes since 2022. She often attends races with him. The couple have not announced an engagement.

He speaks French, Italian and English and is a big football fan, which explains the Versailles investment. He has often spoken publicly about Anthoine Hubert since his friend’s death in 2019.

Gasly has said that, after the money struggles of his junior career, one of his priorities has been to make sure his family is financially secure.

Philanthropy

Gasly has been a Make-A-Wish France ambassador since 2023. He meets seriously ill children at races, has hosted visits to Alpine’s factory in Enstone, and has auctioned helmets to raise money for the charity.

In 2021 he donated his Ayrton Senna tribute helmet from the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix to the Ayrton Senna Foundation, which supports education for children in Brazil.
