Banking FAQs
How much of my savings should be in a high-yield account?
A common rule of thumb is to keep three to six months of expenses in an emergency fund in a high-yield savings account, where it stays liquid but still earns interest. Money you won't need for years may work harder in a CD or invested.
Is my money safe in an online bank?
Deposits at FDIC-insured banks — including most online banks — are protected up to $250,000 per depositor, per bank, per ownership category, exactly the same as at a branch bank.
