Annual earnings
Forbes and Billboard have both tracked Post Malone’s yearly income. The numbers rise sharply in touring years and drop when he is mainly recording.
| List | Earnings | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Forbes Celebrity 100 (2020) | About $60 million | Runaway Tour and Hollywood’s Bleeding |
| Billboard Money Makers (2020) | $23.2 million | No. 2 behind Taylor Swift; covers U.S. music income only in a pandemic year |
| Forbes highest-paid musicians (2025) | $62 million | No. 11; Big Ass Stadium Tour |
Forbes counts earnings before taxes, after label cuts and fees from managers, agents and lawyers. Billboard’s list counts only U.S. revenue from music, so the two lists are not directly comparable.
Early life
Austin Richard Post was born on July 4, 1995, in Syracuse, New York. He was raised by his father, Richard, a former DJ, and his stepmother, Jodie. His father introduced him to hip-hop, country and rock.
When he was nine, the family moved to Grapevine, Texas, after his father took a job as a concessions manager for the Dallas Cowboys. Post learned guitar, played in a local metalcore band and, in 2010, auditioned for the band Crown the Empire without success.
At Grapevine High School, classmates voted him “Most Likely to Become Famous.” He briefly attended Tarrant County College, then dropped out and moved to Los Angeles to make music. He has said he picked the “Malone” in his stage name using an online rap name generator.
Breakthrough: “White Iverson” and Stoney
Post uploaded “White Iverson” to SoundCloud in 2015. The song went viral, and by August 2015 he had signed with Republic Records.
His debut album, Stoney (2016), included “Congratulations” with Quavo, his first top 10 hit. The album stayed on the charts for years and broke Michael Jackson’s record for the most weeks on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. He also opened for Justin Bieber’s Purpose World Tour, which put him in front of stadium crowds early.
Chart peak: Beerbongs & Bentleys and Hollywood’s Bleeding
Beerbongs & Bentleys (2018) debuted at No. 1 with 461,000 units in its first week. It produced two Hot 100 No. 1s, “Rockstar” and “Psycho,” and earned an Album of the Year Grammy nomination.
“Sunflower,” his duet with Swae Lee from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, became his third No. 1. It later became the first song ever certified 2x Diamond, meaning 20 million U.S. units.
Hollywood’s Bleeding (2019) also debuted at No. 1 and earned another Album of the Year nomination. Its single “Circles” spent 61 weeks on the Hot 100. The album also included “Take What You Want” with Ozzy Osbourne and Travis Scott.
These records are the core of his fortune. As of 2025 he had nine Diamond-certified songs, second only to Drake, and more than 150 million certified units in the U.S., according to the RIAA.
Twelve Carat Toothache and Austin
Twelve Carat Toothache (2022) and Austin (2023) both peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Neither matched his earlier peak, but both kept him touring arenas through the Twelve Carat Tour and the If Y’all Weren’t Here, I’d Be Crying Tour.
In 2023 he also released The Diamond Collection, a compilation of his Diamond-certified singles, which kept his older catalog earning on streaming services.
The country pivot: F-1 Trillion
In 2024 Post made a full move into country music, and it paid off fast. First came a feature on Taylor Swift‘s “Fortnight,” which topped the Hot 100.
Then came “I Had Some Help” with Morgan Wallen, which debuted at No. 1 and became one of the biggest songs of the year. The two teamed up again in April 2025 on “I Ain’t Comin’ Back.”
His country album, F-1 Trillion (August 2024), debuted at No. 1 with about 250,000 first-week units. It was his first No. 1 album in five years and the second-biggest debut of 2024, behind Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter. The album featured stars such as Luke Combs, Dolly Parton, Chris Stapleton and Tim McGraw.
The pivot opened up a new, older fan base and new revenue streams: country radio, country festivals and, most importantly, stadium tickets.
The Big Ass Stadium Tour
Post’s first full stadium tour began in Salt Lake City on April 29, 2025, with Jelly Roll and Sierra Ferrell as the main openers. It then moved on to Europe and the U.K. in the late summer.
- 2025 gross: about $231.2 million from 51 shows, with more than 1.6 million tickets sold (Billboard year-end Boxscore)
- Ranking: No. 8 on Billboard’s 2025 year-end Top Tours chart and the top country act; Pollstar ranked it No. 10 worldwide
- North America alone: more than $170 million and over 1 million fans
- Profit: Forbes estimates Post took home about $50 million from the tour
The tour returned in 2026 as The Big Ass Stadium Tour: Part 2, again with Jelly Roll. It opened in Fort Lauderdale on April 10, 2026, and was set to end in Austin on October 24, 2026.
The second run was rockier. Five U.S. dates were cancelled over scheduling conflicts, and an Edmonton show was called off because of weather. On August 28, 2026, all 15 shows in Asia, Australia and New Zealand were postponed indefinitely with refunds, and no reason was given. No full 2026 gross has been published yet.
2026 and what comes next
Post performed at the closing ceremony of the FIFA World Cup final on July 19, 2026, one of the biggest TV audiences in the world.
In April 2026 he announced his seventh album, The Eternal Buzz, a 40-track double album recorded in Nashville that continues his country sound. In October 2026 he said it was nearly finished, and it is now expected in 2027.
Business ventures and brand deals
Maison No. 9 rosé
Post launched Maison No. 9, a French rosé from Provence, in 2020 with James Morrissey of Global Brand Equities and his manager, Dre London. It is made with Château de Berne and named after his favorite tarot card.
The first batch sold out in about two days. E. & J. Gallo Winery handles distribution, and a bottle launched at $21.99. As of late 2026 there was no public report of the brand being sold, and its sales figures and Post’s ownership share have not been disclosed.
Bud Light
Post has been one of Bud Light’s most visible faces. He released special-edition cans during his 2019 Runaway Tour and starred with comedian Shane Gillis and Peyton Manning in Bud Light’s 2025 Super Bowl ad, “Big Men on Cul-de-Sac.” Fees were not disclosed.
Crocs
Since 2018 he has released several Crocs collaborations. Many of them sold out within minutes, which made him one of the brand’s earliest celebrity partners.
Raising Cane’s
A long-time fan of the chicken chain, Post designed a hot pink Raising Cane’s in Midvale, Utah, which opened in April 2023. The partnership later expanded with a Dallas Cowboys-themed location and a collectible cup collection.
Other deals and investments
- Envy Gaming: joined the Dallas esports company’s ownership group in 2020
- Posty’s: his own bar on Nashville’s Lower Broadway, which opened in July 2025
- Oreo: a limited-edition cookie with Mondelez in 2025
- Magic: The Gathering: two Secret Lair card sets with Wizards of the Coast in 2022
- Food: a “Ghost Malone” sandwich with Howlin’ Ray’s in Los Angeles
The $2 million One Ring card
Post is a serious Magic: The Gathering player. In 2023 he bought the only copy of “The One Ring” card from a special Lord of the Rings set, after it was found by a collector named Brook Trafton.
The card had drawn offers of more than $2 million, including one of $2.2 million from a Spanish card shop, according to reports. The exact price Post paid was not officially disclosed, but it is widely reported to be at least $2 million, making it one of the most expensive trading cards ever sold.
Real estate
Post left Los Angeles for Utah in the late 2010s and has lived there ever since. His main home is a large estate in Cottonwood Heights, outside Salt Lake City.
| Property | Year | Reported price |
|---|---|---|
| Cottonwood Heights, Utah estate (about 13,000 sq ft on roughly 6.75 acres) | 2018 | About $3.1 million |
| Additional Utah land | 2023 | Not disclosed |
The Utah house has five bedrooms, a wine cellar, a pool, a home gym, and basketball and tennis courts. Post has joked about turning it into a doomsday bunker.
In October 2023 he told Howard Stern he planned to move to another state for more space. Hours later he said on social media that he was staying in Utah and “just getting some more land.” No sale of the Cottonwood Heights home has been reported. Separately, his family’s former childhood home in Grapevine, Texas, was listed for $549,900 in February 2026.
Personal life
Post and his former fiancée, Hee Sung “Jamie” Park, have a daughter, born in 2022. The couple split at the end of 2024, and in November 2025 they settled a custody and child support case. The terms are sealed.
He has spoken openly about past struggles with alcohol and has since been linked to Christy Lee. He lives mainly in Utah.
Philanthropy
In April 2020 Post livestreamed a set of Nirvana covers from his home. The show raised more than $5 million for the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 relief fund. He has also teamed up with Raising Cane’s on charity campaigns.
