People With a Similar Net Worth

NBA YoungBoy’s net worth is about $15 million, according to widely reported estimates in 2026. No major financial outlet such as Forbes or Bloomberg has published its own valuation of the Baton Rouge rapper, and published figures vary a lot, from under $10 million to more than $40 million. Treat any single number as a rough guide.

What is not in doubt is the size of his audience. YoungBoy Never Broke Again, born Kentrell Gaulden, is the most certified rapper in RIAA history, has more Billboard 200 entries than any other rapper, and has built one of the biggest YouTube channels in music with roughly 15 billion views.

His money story also has an unusual shape. For most of his career, legal cases and house arrest kept him off the road. That changed in 2025, when his first arena tour in five years grossed about $70 million, and he later said he was paid as much as $1.5 million a show.

Where NBA YoungBoy’s money comes from

Source Details Estimate
Streaming and catalog Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube plays across a catalog of 30+ charting albums and mixtapes His steadiest income; exact royalties are not public
Touring 2025 Make America Slime Again (MASA) Tour About $70 million gross; he says he earned $1.2–1.5 million per show
Label deals Atlantic Records (2017–2022), then Motown 2017 deal reported at $2 million; later terms not disclosed
YouTube Ad revenue from about 15 billion channel views Not disclosed
Never Broke Again label Releases by NBA artists such as OG 3Three and others Not disclosed
Merchandise Tour and online merchandise Not disclosed

Costs matter as much as income in his case. Years of legal bills, bail, fines and a very large family mean that what he earns and what he keeps can be quite different numbers.

His mixtapes AI YoungBoy 2 (2019) and 38 Baby 2 (2020) also debuted at No. 1.

Early life

Kentrell DeSean Gaulden was born on October 20, 1999, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Sherhonda Gaulden and Jeffrey Staden. As a toddler he broke his neck and had to wear a head brace, which left the scars visible on his forehead.

He was raised mostly by his grandmother, Alice Gaulden. After she died in 2010, he was placed in a group home. He left Scotlandville Magnet High School in ninth grade.

He began recording at about 14 with a cheap microphone bought at Walmart and wrote lyrics while in juvenile detention. His first mixtape, Life Before Fame, came out in 2015.

Breakthrough and the Atlantic years

Songs like “38 Baby” and “Untouchable” spread quickly on YouTube and in the South. In 2017 he signed with Artist Partner Group and Atlantic Records. The deal was reported as a five-album contract worth about $2 million.

His official debut album, Until Death Call My Name (2018), reached No. 7. Two years later Top (2020) gave him his first No. 1 studio album. Sincerely, Kentrell (2021) also hit No. 1, even though he was in jail when it came out.

By the end of 2023 he had been the most-streamed rap artist on YouTube in the U.S. for five straight years. Earlier, he had topped YouTube’s U.S. Top Music Artists chart across all genres for 101 weeks.

The $60 million question

In August 2022 YoungBoy posted on social media about settling with Atlantic and a $60 million deal. Variety later reported that $60 million was the figure he said he wanted, not a confirmed deal value. The Last Slimeto, released on August 5, 2022, was his final album owed to Atlantic.

Motown and the Never Broke Again era

After Atlantic, YoungBoy moved his label, Never Broke Again, to a partnership with Motown, part of Universal Music Group. Variety confirmed the move in 2022 and said the signing was “highly competitive.” Financial terms were not disclosed.

Never Broke Again was founded in Baton Rouge in 2015 by YoungBoy and his friend OG 3Three. Besides his own albums, it has signed artists such as Quando Rondo (jointly with Atlantic), NBA Big B and newer acts added in 2025 and 2026.

The label has also put out independent projects through the distributor UnitedMasters. In a 2026 Complex cover interview, YoungBoy said he owns 100% of his masters. Asked if he would ever sell them, he answered, “Yeah. Why not?” If true, his catalog could be his most valuable asset, though no sale price has ever been reported.

Legal cases and what they cost him

YoungBoy’s legal record is long and well documented. It matters here because it shaped how and where he could earn money for most of his 20s.

  • September 2020: arrested in Baton Rouge with 15 others on drug and stolen gun charges.
  • March 2021: arrested in Los Angeles on a federal gun charge. He was released in October 2021 on $1.5 million bail and placed on house arrest in Utah.
  • July 2022: found not guilty in the California federal gun case.
  • April 2024: arrested in Utah on charges tied to a prescription drug fraud ring. His house arrest was revoked.
  • November 2024: pleaded guilty in Utah to identity fraud, forgery and unlawful pharmacy conduct counts, and paid a $25,000 fine.
  • December 2024: sentenced in federal court to 23 months in prison for gun possession as a felon. A second federal case brought five years of probation and a $200,000 fine, according to the Associated Press.
  • March–April 2025: released from federal prison to home confinement with credit for time served, then finished home confinement.

The Trump pardon

On May 28, 2025, President Donald Trump pardoned YoungBoy, as confirmed by White House officials to the Associated Press. The pardon ended his federal probation, including drug testing. It cleared the way for him to tour across the country for the first time in five years.

In practice, the legal years were expensive. He spent long stretches unable to perform live, paid large bail and fines, and carried the cost of lawyers in several states. Touring, which is often a rapper’s biggest income source, was off the table until late 2025.

The MASA Tour: his biggest payday

The Make America Slime Again (MASA) Tour ran from September 2025 in Dallas to November 12, 2025, in Seattle. It started with 27 dates and grew after demand surged following the pardon.

  • Gross: about $70 million across 42 shows, per Touring Data and figures reported to Billboard Boxscore
  • Tickets: more than 550,000 sold
  • Top night: Philadelphia on October 3, 2025, grossed about $2.37 million
  • Biggest crowd: T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with 15,343 tickets on November 9, 2025
  • Record: the highest-grossing tour ever by a rapper on his first headlining trek, according to XXL

The gross is ticket revenue, not his personal take. But in an August 2026 interview on Open Thoughts With Funny Marco, YoungBoy said he was paid $1.5 million per show and “nothing less than $1.2” million a night. Across 42 shows, that would point to roughly $50–63 million in pre-tax show fees, before taxes, management and other costs. This one tour likely did more for his wealth than several years of record sales.

Three shows (Chicago, Detroit and Atlanta) were cancelled. He has said he plans another tour leg under a new name and possibly his first shows outside the U.S., but dates had not been confirmed as of this writing.

Albums in 2025 and 2026

YoungBoy kept releasing music during and after his legal troubles:

  • More Leaks (2025): a compilation of fan-favorite leaked songs.
  • MASA (July 25, 2025): debuted at No. 6 with 49,000 units and 69 million first-week streams. It was his 34th Billboard 200 entry, the most of any rapper, passing E-40.
  • Slime Cry (January 16, 2026): a 30-track album that debuted at No. 6 with 70,000 units. It became his 17th top-10 album and stayed on the chart for 19 weeks.
  • ML2 (June 26, 2026): a 20-track sequel to More Leaks.

He was also booked to headline Rolling Loud in 2026, the only festival he said he would play that year. Big festival bookings like this add to his live income between tours.

Streaming, YouTube and certifications

YoungBoy is a streaming-first artist. He rarely does radio promotion or big TV appearances, yet his numbers rival the biggest names in rap:

  • 126 RIAA-certified titles (January 2026), the most of any rapper
  • More than 109 million certified digital units in the U.S.
  • 100+ Billboard Hot 100 entries; he was the youngest artist to reach 100
  • About 15 billion YouTube channel views

YouTube does not publish what artists earn, and YoungBoy has not shared his ad revenue. Still, a channel this size generates a steady stream of income on top of royalties from Spotify and Apple Music.

Real estate

YoungBoy has lived in Utah since 2022, first under court-ordered house arrest. His best-known property was a modern home in the Olympus Cove area of Millcreek, near Salt Lake City.

Property Year Reported price
Olympus Cove (Millcreek), Utah home Listed for sale in February 2024 Asking price $5.5 million

The house has about 8,000–8,800 square feet, four bedrooms, a pool, a heated driveway and a five-car garage, with views over the Salt Lake Valley. Its purchase price has not been reported. In a 2026 interview he still described Utah as “my home.”

Personal life

YoungBoy married Jazlyn Mychelle Hayes in 2023. He has a large family: in his 2026 Complex interview he said he has 14 children, with another on the way. Supporting a family of that size is a major ongoing expense.

He has spoken openly about avoiding money talk. When Birdman predicted he would one day be a billionaire, he replied “Hopefully,” and his main advice to young artists was simple: “Save your money.”

His legal history remains part of his public story. In December 2025 he was a passenger in a car stopped on Interstate 15 in Utah where drugs and cash were found; the driver and another passenger claimed the drugs.

Philanthropy

YoungBoy’s giving is less formal than many stars’, but some acts are on record. Before the MASA Tour opener in Dallas he donated $50,000 to two local nonprofits, Manifest Freedom and Urban Specialists. Fans also filmed him handing out cash at shows during the tour.

How NBA YoungBoy compares

Artist Estimated net worth Main source
Jay-Z About $2.5 billion Business and investments
Nicki Minaj About $150 million Music, touring, endorsements
Chris Brown About $50 million Music and touring
NBA YoungBoy About $15 million Streaming and touring

Jay-Z’s figure is a Forbes estimate from 2025; the others are widely reported estimates as of 2026. YoungBoy’s audience is far larger than his estimated wealth suggests, mostly because legal problems kept him off the road for years.
