How we estimated her net worth

Because there is no credible published figure, we worked from public data and standard industry ranges. Every number here is an estimate, not reported income.

Step 1: YouTube views

vidIQ shows her main channel at about 976.5 million lifetime views from 406 videos as of October 23, 2026. In the 28 days before that, the channel drew about 7.43 million views, which works out to roughly 97 million views a year at the current pace.

Her separate “Vanny Vabiola – Topic” channel, which YouTube creates automatically for released music, adds about 79 million views.

Step 2: What those views pay

YouTube pays creators per 1,000 views, an amount known as RPM. Rates in Indonesia are among the lowest in the world, but many of Vanny’s viewers watch from higher-paying countries because her covers are of Western songs.

  • We used a range of $0.40 to $1.50 per 1,000 views.
  • vidIQ’s own model puts her channel at about $4,700 a month, which implies a rate of about $0.63, inside our range.
  • At current traffic, that points to about $40,000 to $145,000 a year before any deductions.
  • Across all lifetime views, the same rates give roughly $400,000 to $1.5 million in total ad revenue.

Step 3: Deductions

Most of her popular videos are cover songs. On YouTube, the publishers who own those songs usually claim a share of the ad money through Content ID. Her channel was also much smaller before 2020, when her “The Power of Love” cover first went viral, so early views earned little.

After taxes and the costs of raising a family over many years, a fair share of that income will have been spent. That is why we think YouTube left her with somewhere in the low-to-mid hundreds of thousands of dollars in savings and assets.

Step 4: Other income

Concerts, CD sales, endorsements and private bookings add to that total, but the amounts are not public. For scale, her 2022 solo concert in Padang offered 500 festival tickets at Rp 200,000 and 60 VIP tickets at Rp 400,000. A full sell-out would have grossed about Rp 124 million, or roughly $8,000, before costs.

Putting it together, we arrive at a range of $400,000 to $800,000 and use the midpoint, about $600,000, as the headline figure. We will update it if a credible outlet publishes a number.

Early life

Vanny Vabiola was born on July 3, 1986, in Padang, the capital of West Sumatra. She is of Minangkabau heritage, and her parents were both teachers who played music for her from infancy.

Her mother, who also enjoyed vocal training, taught her to sing. Indonesian media report that her mother had her practise vibrato by singing into a deep well so she could hear her voice echo back. She was singing in several styles by kindergarten.

As a teenager she also became a skilled reciter of the Quran. In 2000 she was part of the West Sumatra team at the national Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) recitation competition in Palu, Central Sulawesi.

Career in Minang pop

Vanny dates the start of her career to 2001, when a duet with Minang singer Boy Sandi first made her known to the public. Her debut album was Panggang Maco.

Over the next two decades she became a working regional singer. She recorded two albums on cassette and about 20 on CD, and her releases appeared on several labels, including Malaysia’s Insictech Musicland as well as regional Indonesian labels.

She was often booked to sing classic Indonesian pop, especially in eastern Indonesia. In a 2022 interview she said her farthest booking had been in Fak-Fak, Papua.

Her husband, Decky Ryan, also shaped this period. He had founded an organ tunggal (one-keyboard band) act called “Diva” and brought her in as its singer. He went on to write and produce many of her songs.

YouTube breakthrough

Vanny began posting songs on YouTube in 2013 and started running the channel seriously in 2015. She first covered Minang songs, then nostalgic Indonesian pop, then Western pop ballads.

The turning point came in 2020. Her cover of “The Power of Love,” made famous by Celine Dion, spread widely after foreign YouTubers posted reaction videos praising her high notes and soft head voice. Republika reported in December 2020 that the cover had passed 3 million views and drawn attention from music commentators abroad.

Around the same time, Indonesian celebrity lawyer Hotman Paris shared a clip of her singing Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” and asked his followers for her contact details, which brought her to an even wider audience at home.

Her channel grew quickly after that:

  • March 2021: about 1.3 million subscribers (Padangkita)
  • October 2022: about 1.8 million subscribers (Antara)
  • October 2026: about 2.65 million subscribers (vidIQ)

Her most-watched videos

Video Uploaded Views (Oct 2026)
“I Love You” (Celine Dion cover) April 2023 About 46.3 million
“Have You Ever Seen the Rain” (Rod Stewart version cover) May 2024 About 13.4 million
12-song medley of Indonesian oldies February 2022 About 10.1 million
“When I Need You” (Celine Dion cover) April 2022 About 9.8 million
“You Raise Me Up” (Josh Groban cover) May 2023 About 8.7 million

Figures are from vidIQ. Indonesian media have also reported big numbers for covers posted elsewhere, including more than 73 million views for her version of “Ada Rindu Untukmu” (Antara, 2022) and about 21 million for “Di Batas Kota Ini” (Republika, 2020).

Concerts and the Melbourne show

To mark 21 years in music, Vanny staged a solo concert at the Pangeran Beach Hotel in Padang on October 29, 2022. It was promoted by her own company, Vava Production, and she described it as the first concert of its kind by a West Sumatran singer. The setlist mixed eight of her own songs with three covers.

Her first notable show abroad came in Australia. On May 30, 2023, she performed at the Autumn Peace Concert at the Armagh Ballroom in Toorak, Melbourne, alongside composer and pianist Warren Wills and the Young World Choir. SBS Indonesian interviewed her and her manager, Dr Rani Silvia, ahead of the event.

She also plays large regional festivals. In December 2022, for example, she sang a nine-song set to a crowd of thousands at the PEDATI event in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, opening with “The Power of Love.”

Concert fees for her shows have not been made public.

A note on the “talent show” videos

Clips that appear to show Vanny on America’s Got Talent or Britain’s Got Talent have spread widely on TikTok and YouTube. They are edited montages that lay her recorded vocals over footage of other performers. We found no record that she has ever competed on a major TV singing competition.

In fact, Indonesian outlet Suara reported in October 2023 that she once turned down a TV audition because she was asked to remove her hijab. Her fame was built almost entirely online.

Original music and brand work

Vanny and Decky Ryan have written at least five Western-style original songs together. One of them, “I Think I Love You,” reportedly trended in China for about three months. She also released the Minang-language album Bayanga Kasiah Dimalaysia in 2022 and kept releasing originals in 2026, including the music video “True Love” in October.

In 2020, Indonesian media reported that she also ran an Instagram account carrying paid product endorsements. The brands and fees have not been disclosed.

Real estate

There are no public records or credible reports of property she owns, so we have not listed any.

Personal life

Vanny married Decky Ryan, a singer, guitarist and songwriter, in 2007. The couple first worked together on a song recorded for an election campaign. He remains her main songwriter, producer and duet partner, and his name appears in many of her video credits.

In a 2021 interview she said the couple had four children and that their first child had died. She has spoken about how giving birth changed her voice and how she relearned high notes afterwards. She wears a hijab.
